Freesat Installation

Bought your Freesat Box but don't have a Freesat Dish?

As we stated earlier, you don't need to get a new dish installed if you already have a SKY satellite dish , you can plug into that and off you go.

If on the other hand you don't have a satellite dish then you can get it installed when you buy your Freesat Box from either Currys or Argos. They both offer the installation service at a reasonable charge. Freesat Installation, more...

The Humax Foxsat HDR PVR Box is a very nice looking piece of kit, its sleak and stylish meaning it fits within the style of your set-up Humax Foxsat HDR PVR Freesat Box, more...

Humax Foxsat HD Box

Humax Foxsat HD

The Humax Foxsat Freesat Box is our Highly Recommended - non recording option if you are indeed looking to buy a freesat box. For the price you simply cant go wrong, its incredibly fast and easy to use. Picture quality is excellent in both HD and SD and at a price that wont break the bank.

Within the non-recording range of HD Freesat Boxes, this is still our favourite unit, it performs well, looks stylish and at its current low price is a bargain.

The Humax Foxsat Box is also one of the smallest units we had in to test and was just 280mm wide! It sat very neatly amongst out other equiptment. Humax Foxsat HD Freesat Box, more...

Goodmans GFSAT200HD

Goodmans GFSAT200HD

The Goodmans GFSAT200HD Freesat Box came out second in our tests to the Humax Foxsat HD unit. We felt that the picture quality wasn't as crisp as the picture delivered by the Foxsat. Set-up on the Goodmans again wasn't as easy as it was on the Foxsat and this is something that we feel let it down.

The SD images were slightly soft yet the HD images performed with balance which we were happy with. This box is also on the small side which is great when you have an already cluttered media unit. Goodmans GFSAT200HD Freesat Box, more...

Grundig GUFSAT01HD

Grundig GUFSAT01HD

The Grundig GUFSAT01HD Freesat Box is made by the Alba group. Alba owns Goodmans, Grundig and Bush. Their freesat boxes are almost identical minus the fascias. When we first tried out the GUFSAT01HD we were impressed. Again like other Alba models the SD picture was a little soft yet the HD pictures continued to be very balanced and impressive.

The one thing that the Grundig Freesat Box had over the others here is that it had slightly better sonic performance but it really was marginal. We still much prefer the Humax, especially with its excellent menus - we found the Grundig Box to be slightly fiddly at times. Grundig GUFSAT01HD Freesat Box, more...

Bush BFSAT01HD

Bush BFSAT01HD

The Bush BFSAT01HD Freesat Box is an excellent performer in our eyes. Its almost identical to the Grundig GUFSAT01HD and the Goodmans GFSAT200HD box. The only differences are the price and a few little features here and there, and the remote buttons are silver instead of grey. Again like the other Alba boxes the picture is excellent in HD but yet again in the SD format they are a little soft. The menu system is a little fiddly and for this reason we would always go for the Humax Foxsat Freesat Box.

If you're on a budget and you want to get Freesat HD for less then the Bush is probably your best choice! Bush BFSAT01HD Freesat Box, more...
